About
My research focuses on the history and historiography of Western music theory (especially Renaissance and early modern theory). I am particularly interested in studying the epistemological frameworks that structure theoretical discourses. I also have secondary research interests in the histories of philosophy and science, 19th- and 20th-century continental philosophy, and hermeneutics. My special interest in German theory and culture led me to teach English in Germany for two years on Fulbright and Pädagogischer Austauschdienst grants after college. In my free time, I enjoy browsing used bookstores, traveling, playing bass, and learning new languages.
