Student pianists, both undergraduate and graduate, can enhance their musical skills and experience through master classes, quarterly Piano Showcase concerts, and numerous other opportunities offered by the Department of Music’s Piano Program. Students in the program receive regular coaching sessions with the Director of Piano Studies and opportunities to participate in master classes with visiting guest artists and local professional pianists. Performance opportunities include numerous concerts on and off campus, with many focused on a specific composer or historical period.
Rehearsals & Performances
Pianists participate in regular studio classes and sign up for workshops, master classes, and performances on the Tea Time Concert Series, piano recitals, and at a community concerts.

Auditions
Auditions for the Piano Program will take place the first week of October, after the appointment of a new Director of Piano Studies. If you are interested in participating in masterclasses, workshops, showcase concerts, and other opportunities for pianists offered by the Department of Music – or to take private lessons with a piano instructor on campus – you should plan to sign up for a Piano Studies audition. Details and the audition registration link will be available mid-September.
